Wakayama is the sacred place of Kumano Kodo and Mt. Koya, and has been visited by many pilgrims since ancient times. Even now, there is no end to the number of people from all over the world who visit these two sacred sites as pilgrims, or just as tourists. Wakayama Prefecture, which faces the Pacific Ocean, is also famous for its abundant seafood catches. There are many scenic spots and hot springs, and because of these natural resources, there are many resort facilities such as ones in Nanki Shirahama. Despite being a place with so much nature remaining, it is easily accessible from Kansai International Airport and Chubu Centrair International Airport.
